Neil Fabry

Hi, I'm Neil Fabry.

I enjoy stepping outside of my comfort zone. I've always cherished it. I've always wanted to experience everything life offers, whether skydiving, rock climbing, or learning a foreign language.

Spending such a long time in the air on some of the most giant mining rigs in the world and then underground teaches you a few things about yourself.

Today, the chances of someone hurting themselves at work are relatively low. However, if something went wrong back then at a mining site, it could even result in death. The dangers are great. However, this is typically the case; high risk typically comes with high reward.

But I'm not about the risks anymore. The organization is risky, yes, but I focus more on making plans for success and getting ready for the next opportunity.

Neil Fabry's Story so far

How did Neil Fabry launch his initial company?

After spending more than ten years working for the largest mining companies on the largest mining rigs and sites on the planet, Neil Fabry decided to strike out on his own and start a scaffolding business. In this fiercely competitive market, he searched for new opportunities outside of construction.

Success, in Neil's words, is "when opportunity meets preparation." When Neil realized no one was qualified to react swiftly to natural disasters that struck Australia, he recognized his opportunity.

In order to help the emergency services and those in need, he and his group were able to mobilize and enter "still relatively unsafe areas." Because of this, Neil and his company, FAB Industrial Scaffolding, developed a reputation among rescue agencies and even insurance firms for arriving on the scene when others couldn't. Neil's Scaffolding currently provides services to the biggest insurance companies, such as https://johnslyng.com.au and https://ajgrantgroup.com.au. Additionally, they have the necessary certifications to work for most Australian insurance groups as well as NRMA, AIG, Suncorp, AAMI, and GIO.

What Motivated Neil Fabry to Found FAB Industrial Logistics?

In typical entrepreneurial fashion, the scaffolding warehouse was largely empty and costing Neil a lot of money. He was unable to get rid of the warehouse out of fear that he might actually need the space for the scaffolding, but one day he had an epiphany.

"I was sitting there with my old man and looking at this space and our forklift, and I said to him... We need a solution for this wasted space" Not long after the solution they came up with was to start warehousing and moving stock for others, a 3PL was born.

What started from;

  • 1 empty warehouse costing them money
  • A forklift
  • A father and Son team

is now one of Australia's most trusted 3pl, freight, warehousing and logistics companies. They have clients such as Woolworths, BIG W, Telstra and Audi to name a few.

The FAB Logistics team currently unloads over 100 Pallets of stock per day. They constantly oversee more than 150,000 stock pallets for their clients.

In less than three years, they have accumulated over four locations throughout Australia, along with a smaller empty warehouse. By 2025, they hope to have more than 250,000 square meters of warehouse space.

It's amazing what you can do with a good idea, a lot of hard yakka and a bit of good luck!
